Staff Discussion / Punishment Template - Ban Times, Kick, etc.

Hey all!

Just wanted to take some time to get a punishment template going for the new staff--I was dealing with some issues in-game regarding disconnecting during a raid and I personally wasn't aware of how to properly deal with it, so I thought it would be a good idea to start a punishment template so new staff members will be able to have a resource to deal with punishing intentional rulebreakers to avoid any confusion or harsh punishment.

Obviously we'll need Joe to establish which violations bring which punishments (our playerbase is small as of now, so lighter punishments are probably the way to go), but here's an example of the template:

Date of entry into the Underdone Community - December 19th, 2019

What Underdone server are you applying to be staff for? - GangWarsRP

What do you hope to achieve in your time as Underdone staff? - During my time as a staff member I hope to keep order in the server and teach new players how to play and familiar players how to have fun. I also would be looking forward to helping improve the server and the community outside of GangWarsRP as well. I like sticking with communities and seeing how they grow.

When are you able to be on our servers? - Weekdays from 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM EST, even sometimes during the later hours 3:00 AM - 6:00 AM EST

What can you bring to the Underdone Community? -  I'm extremely familiar with how communities work and what it takes to be a role model staff member. I understand that being an administrator is a lot more than keeping a safe environment in the server, it's about being engaged with the players and helping them have a better experience. I've been an administrator in several different communities for several different gamemodes throughout my Gmod experience (Some of these servers being long dead, but X-Community, Impacted Servers,  NotFoundTech, LifePunch) so I know a ton about what it takes to be a staff member in a large community.

What can distinguish you from other players and staff members? - I've been playing Garry's Mod for nearly 9 years--I basically grew up on the game. I'm respectful and professional, and I like to stay away from the gang chaos around the server. I've stuck around a ton of communities and I've done a ton of work on organizing things around the servers and the forums. I'm familiar with a variety of different gamemodes and I've finally gotten back into the swing of this one since it has returned.
 
Anything else to add - I've been searching for GangWarsRP for a while now and I'm glad to have finally came around to finding it! Thanks for reviving this amazing gamemode, I'd love to do everything I can to help it grow again. Can't wait to see what's in store.

I'm mitochondria!

I used to play GangWarsRP back when it was first in business, did some searching around and I eventually found the server and the forums!

I'm 20 years old currently a junior in college studying biomedical marketing.

I've been playing Gmod for about 7 years mostly Basewars, TTT, and DarkRP.

Glad to see that GangWars is back and functioning, the server looks great!

Server Issues/Suggestions / Driving Traffic to GangWarsRP

I'd just like to start by saying thanks to whoever was involved in bringing this gamemode back, you did a great job and a larger playerbase will come in the near future.

I just wanted to discuss some ways to market and drive traffic GangWarsRP again. It's obvious that people would seriously enjoy this gamemode and play it a ton, but the main problem is that there's not much awareness that it even exists.

Now, I'm aware that it's just been re-made and there's still some tweaks that need to be done to the map and the gameplay but it's time to start letting people know that this gamemode is back!

With that being said, here's a list of some ways we can bring this gamemode back into play:

• In-game link and incentive to sign up on the forums
• In-game link and incentive to join the steam-group
• Post on Facepunch, Reddit, or any other Garry's Mod site
• Start making more recent posts on the forums or steamgroup
• Create more recent videos on Youtube
• Gain presence on the Garry's Mod official server list in-game
• Invite friends to the server as much as you can

If anyone has more ideas, feel free to post them here and I will add them to the list!

To go into a little more depth, I personally almost wasn't able to find the server because there simply weren't any recent posts or videos or people online really talking about GangWarsRP because it's been gone for so long and the older playerbase has probably grown up and stopped playing Garry's Mod (much like myself). However, I do believe that we can revive this amazing gamemode with a nice push. There's a great UI, ways to keep players busy, gameplay is always rewarding, and it's nothing like a regular DarkRP server but it's not too large to where it mimics CityRP or PERP.

Make some content showing off these traits, post about GangWarsRP everywhere, get listed on the Gmod server list, invite some friends and eventually this server will be in people's faces to the point where they won't have to scan the web to find it like I did.
